If you filed a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, typically you will have to wait 2 years after the discharge date to be eligible for a new mortgage through FHA financing. There are some circumstances and programs that may allow you to purchase sooner, such as the FHA Back to Work program, however you will need to meet very specific criteria in order to qualify. Typically, you can expect a two year wait period.
