If spouses are both 68 when one passes away and neither have ever filed for Social Security, can the wife file for spousal benefits on the husband?

Neither have ever applied for benefits. He has had substantial earnings and wife has had very very little but she does have her 40 qtrs.

As long as they were married for 10 or more years, the wife can choose the larger of her own benefit or her husband's.
