I would like to purchase a small home. I'm on disability of $1800 a month. Would I be able to qualify for a small mortgage of around $60,000?

I have some old medical bills on my credit report that I thought my health insurance covered. I survived ovarian cancer, and was a registered nurse. I lost everything. Now I'm on disability at $1800 a month - I have no debts and I'm trying so hard to purchase a small cheap home now. I'm not sure how to go about getting a mortgage on disability. Any advice would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! Thank you.

What you will be able to qualify for is based on several things, including your credit score, income and debt. The best thing to do is to begin the formal pre-approval process in order to find out what you can or can't qualify for. This process is free and should be relatively easy.

Thanks, and good luck!
