How can I determine if I qualify to take advantage of any first-time homebuyer programs?

Most first-time homebuyer programs have a income limit and credit score requirement. You might want to start with http://www.tdhca.state.tx.us/homeownership/fthb/down-payment-assistance.htm. I personally do not have access any longer to work with this government agency, however, I do have loan officer friends that do. Reach out to me so I can refer you to a knowledgeable mortgage loan officer.

No Brady it usually isn't. I would recommend sending two separate checks for $100...
