Do I have to pay taxes on my alimony?

The short answer is yes if the divorce was basically finalized before very late 2017. If after that date, it is neither taxable or deductible under the new law.

It depends on whether you are receiving taxable or non-taxable alimony as defined in your Divorce settlement Agreement. Most of the time, alimony is deductible by the payer and taxable to the recipient, but check your DSA
