Your ability to buy term life insurance depends on your age and your health. The price for new term coverage increases dramatically as you age into your 60s and 70s. Most insurance companies won't offer coverage beyond age 80. It wouldn't cost you anything to get a quote. I highly recommend you ask an independent agent, since they can represent multiple carriers. If you go to one of the big name carriers, the only thing they can offer you is their own company's policies. You want someone who can pick from different carriers to find you the best coverage.
