Am I allowed to make contributions to an inherited IRA?

Sorry Erin, but the answer is no. Contributions would need to be made in a different IRA.

You can put it into a Beneficiary Designated Account in the deceased's name with you as the beneficiary. But if the deceased is over 70 1/2, you will have to take the required minimum distribution every year.
