I invested some money with a company back in the 1980s that is no longer in business. How can I find out where and what happened to my money?

I am 66 years old, retired and collecting my Social Security, but I work a part-time job.

Hi mzmj2000,

Your question prompts me to ask some questions in order to understand your situation. Can you recall the name of the company you made the investment with? What was the nature of the investment: was it common stock, or bonds? Did you make the investment directly with the company, or did you purchase shares of stock / bonds through a broker, or adviser? Sorry to answer your question with questions, but I would need more information in order to help. | 01.12.16 @ 21:15

I made an investment of $4,000 back n 1984 with a company I believe by the name of Banner (sp?) Roberts. I made this investment through a broker who has since passed away. I lost my certificate of investment and other paperwork when I moved years ago. Is there anything I can do to locate these funds? | 01.12.16 @ 22:52
