According to the Report on the Economic Well-Being of U.S. Households in 2014, compiled by the Federal Reserve Board, 24% of U.S. households experienced financial hardship in 2014. The report is based on a nationally representative survey of nearly 6,000 Americans and reflects the experiences of the respondents and their families over the twelve months up to October 2014.
