The Federal Reserve Board's Report on the Economic Well-Being of U.S. Households in 2014 surveyed almost 6,000 Americans to shed light on the general value of higher education across the country. Although less than half the respondents actually completed a higher education degree or certificate, this research does indicate that your field of study and the institution you attend plays a big role in how much value you gain from your education.
