1. The original sketch of the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles made by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird in 1983 sold for $71,700 at auction in 2012.

2. Creators Eastman and Laird borrowed money to produce their first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book in 1984. Issues that originally cost $1.50 now sell for up to $48,000.

3. The original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live action film, which was released in 1990, cost $13.5 million to make and raked in more than $200 million at the worldwide box office.

4. From 1988 to 1997, Playmates sold more than $1.1 billion worth of toys, making Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the third most-popular toy at the time behind only G.I. Joe and Star Wars.

5. The 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie cost $125 million to make. It grossed more than $493 million worldwide. That's a lot of pizza!
